Known throughout the eight films for its ambition and links to dark magic, Slytherin house is home to some of the greatest wizards of all time.

This April, we’re inviting you to join us to discover the secrets behind some of the iconic costumes and props belonging to your favourite cunning Slytherin characters.

You won’t have to be under the guise of Polyjuice potion to discover the secrets of the Slytherin common room up close, as for the first time ever, you are invited to gather around the imposing fireplace and sofas where Ron’s magical transformation began to wear off, revealing his ginger hair. During this special feature, a 25-foot high section of this iconic set will be on display, furnished and dressed with authentic props. During filming, Production Designer Stuart Craig wanted a very different atmosphere to the warm colours of Gryffindor so designed the Slytherin common room set to look like a dungeon carved out of solid rock. You’ll be able to see the hand-crafted wall tapestries, which had the red tones completely taken out of the colour palette to add to the austere atmosphere and further highlight the iconic Slytherin colours, green and silver.

When stepping into the Great Hall, you’ll be greeted by a sea of green house banners from the film series are suspended from the enchanted ceiling, denoting a Slytherin victory of the House Cup. Above the teacher’s table, Gryffindor banners will be displayed in reference to the final scenes of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in which Dumbledore awards last-minute house points resulting in a Gryffindor triumph.

Paying homage to some of Slytherin’s most esteemed witches and wizards, a number of original costumes belonging to the Malfoy family will be on display allowing you to see how the designs changed to depict their rise and fall in power and status alongside Lord Voldemort. The evolution of Voldemort’s costumes showing his growth from orphan, Tom Riddle, to young Hogwarts student to prolific villain will also be showcased.

Keep an eye on your family just like Mrs. Weasley.

Sometimes fiction inspires reality—such is the case here with Bryn Dole's Weasley Family clock replica. It uses a Raspberry Pi to replicate the general functionality, going as far as to update in real-time based on your family's actual location data.
If you aren't familiar with the Harry Potter franchise, the clock is found in the home of the Weasley family. Each section of the clock represents a location rather than a point in time. There is a hand for each member of the family which moves magically into position based on where they are at a given moment. If you aren't sure where they are, you can find out in a glance using the clock.

In this project, the location information is gathered and processed using an application called Life 360. This data determines where each individual hand should dial in on the clock. Dole decided to use a grandfather clock found in a thrift store, fitted with a poster of the original clock artwork from the movie.

The clock face is divided into eight sections: Home, Work, School, Garden, Lost, In Transit, Quidditch, and Mortal Peril. Most of these are self-explanatory, with the two most puzzling options being Quidditch and Mortal Peril.
Quidditch is used to represent bicycling. It's triggered when the individual is found travelling slower than a car but faster than a running pace. Mortal Peril represents a person travelling faster than 75 mph (ca. 121 km/h).

Dole was kind enough to share plenty of details about the project and documented the complete creation process. If you want to replicate this project for yourself, that's definitely an option. Check out all the notes and source code on GitHub to get started. Be sure to follow Bryn Dole on his official website for more cool projects.

Slytherin could of Killed the origional oldest peverel hence how he was one of the greatest of his time. Also why slytherin has a large connection with dark witches and wizards. He was the middle brother and before falling to the stone took the wand from his oldest brother because he was the one that killed the woman that he loved. And when killing himself the stone was passed to his kin aswell as the wand.   the elder wand given Ended up being given away to gregorovitch as voldemorts mother was a squib when it came to her and she was trying to protect her son from people who would see him dead if found out who his real father was. So  no need of a wand. Hence why gridlewald stole it from gregorovitch and became all powerful. Hence why the trail for the wand is so easy for voldemort to follow. He knows it was in his family because he had information from snakes in which slytherin was famous for. Ther other theory for this is that before nagini permenently changed she was in actual fact the heir to slytherin and voldemorts mother. And insted of dieing transformed into the snake fully. Hence why it becomes very protective of him and ends up containing a bit of his sole. Hence why she cant look after him as a child because she Permanently was a snake. He says in flashback scene how he can talk to snakes, they whisper things. She could of been teaching and telling him things. Taught him how to use his parstletongue and how to open the chamber if secrets origionally.

It's been 9 years since the series ended and The Deathly Hallow Part 2 was release, However, over the years there have been many opinions and a fair few topics in Harry Potter universe that very controversial. Below we've compiled some of the best, and we'd love to hear your comments, or even your own controversial opinions.

Here are our top 10 controversial opinions:

Hermione was abusive and manipulative? Severus Snape was a horrible person who did not achieve redemption? Neville should have been the chosen one? Fred and George are overrated? Hagrid was a terrible adult figure and influence in the trio’s lives? Hermione should have ended up with Malfoy? Draco Malfoy deserved better? Albus Dumbledore was a bad headmaster that endangered students and played favourites? Remus Lupin would have been a better godfather to Harry than Sirius Black? Hermione would have been much better off in Ravenclaw?
Do you agree with any of them? What are your though?

Quote the numbered opinion with your reply underneath.

      Example:
Of course, they're overrated! They're the Weasley Twins after all, and it brings a little humour to the series!
