  1. Discussion: Harry Potter Films - Unimportant parts you wish could've been added or deleted scenes So I'll start it off by not including Winky! However, we do see her and Dobby very very briefly in The Goblet Of Fire, if you're wondering where? I made a whole topic about 'Things you may have missed in the Harry Potter Films'. Winky, dear old Winky; Crouch's House elf. Important as she is, especially with Crouch Senior to the dark mark cast at the Quidditch Cup in The Goblet of Fire film, plus the whole 'drunk winky' fiasco. Of course lets not forget Horrified Hermione learning that she and the rest of the students are being served by house elves, which prompts her to start (S.P.E.W) Society for Promotion of Elfish Welfare, roping in Harry and Ron to help her. You can also join the S.P.E.W Club Like this post if you think #Winky should've made it in the film! What bit from the books do you wish made it to the films, answers by Owl Post please! (Please don't use Errol as he might get lost and confused....)

The trailer for the project Currently only works in Java Minecraft version 1.12 or 1.12.2! We highly recommend downloading the map for 1.12 or 1.12.2, which has more features. Alternatively, you can download a WIP 1.13.2 version of the 1.12.2 map by clicking here. Unfortunately, it does not work in Minecraft Windows Store Edition Unfortunately, it does not work in Minecraft Pocket Edition Unfortunately, it does not work in Minecraft Xbox or PS3 or PS4 Edition The map is free, although you can choose to donate when downloading. For Download Links: http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/harry-potter-adventure-map-3347878/ Screen Shots: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ): By The Floo Network (Planet Minecraft) Hello, everyone! I would like to help everyone who has a question, but I don't have time to respond to you all. Since I am seeing a lot of the same questions asked, I'll try to answer those here: 1. The map doesn't show up when I download it. This is because you have extracted the world folder into a new folder. The folder in your saves folder should be called "By The Floo Network". If it is called "Harry Potter in Minecraft" instead, simply open this folder, and drag the folder inside out into the saves folder. 2. What is the Resource pack and the shader pack? I have made the Resource pack myself, and it's custom built for the map. If can be downloaded from the Planet Minecraft link in the description. The Shader is Sildur's Vibrant Shaders. 3. How do I install the map? There is a guide if you click the link in the description, which explains how to install it. 4. The book for teleporting around doesn't show up in my inventory. The book only shows up, if you are playing in the version 1.12 or later. The mechanism for giving the player the book in not compatible with 1.11.2 or older updates. 5. Is there any mods required: No. The map has been built and functions in vanilla Minecraft. 6. Does the map cost money? No. The map is free, though you can choose to donate. 7. Is it an adventure map with quests? Not yet, but I am currently working on an expanded version of the map, with quests, as well as new locations, (The rest of the ministry of magic, post-battle Hogwarts and much more!) It will also add some improvements to the locations already built 8. How long did it take to build the map, and how many people worked on it? We are five teenagers, four of us from Denmark and one from America, who've worked on the map on and off over a period of several years. The vast majority of the map was however built by just one person, with the rest helping with some builds and some of the technical aspects of the project.
  4. Things you may have missed in the Harry Potter Films When adapting a book to a film there tends to be a lot of things that are missed out and Harry Potter is no different. As time went on the Harry Potter books became longer and the film makers along with JK Rowling had to make choices of what to trim down. While taking this in to consideration, it's much easier to place things in the background; the so called 'easter eggs' or things that are hidden in the background which gives fans something to hunt for, or details that are hidden away and flashed on screen for just a few seconds. For those who are really looking, we've broken down the top 16 of 'Things you may have missed in the Harry Potter Films'. If you liked this post, why not share it with friends and family and across social media? Starting off with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone There's a scene briefly mentioned in the book, Harry needs a new uniform to attend St Brutus's Secure Centre for Incurably Criminal Boys. So rather than going out and buying the uniform needed the Dursleys do the only sensible thing they die Dudley's old uniform gray. This is only briefly mentioned the book but if you look in the back of this scene in the Philosopher's Stone you can actually see petunia dyeing the clothes in the background and it's a nice little touch and an ode back to the book. The leaky cauldron is Harry's first step into The Wizarding World but did you notice the sign outside seems to be subtly blacked out and it only becomes visible if a wizard walks by? Harry's scar first begins to burn when Snape is looking at him leaving Harry to believe that Snape is evil and is behind the burning of the scar but in fact his scar is actually burning because we are seeing the back of Professor Quirrell head who is actually When Lord Voldermort (He who should not be named)! Did you spot that McGonagall's name is actually next James Potter's in the trophy case for Quidditch? Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Ron's robes in the Chamber of Secrets are slightly more worn in than the rest of his classmates insinuating that their hand-me-downs. Did you spot the hardcover copies of Harry Potter books in this scene and Chamber of Secrets! Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire In Quidditch World Cup in the Goblet of Fire which briefly shows Dobby the house-elf and actually another character cut from the film's if you look closely you can actually see Winkie! Harry Potter and Order of the Pheonix Did you spot the Starbucks logo in the black family tapestry on the wall. Did you realise when Professor Dolores Umbridge causing havoc over the new Hogwarts rulesshe becomes more and more powerful her clothes slowly get darker and darker? Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince In the half-blood Prince when Dumbledore actually shows Harry's first memory of meeting Tom Riddle was a photo of the cave where he would hide one of his Horcruxes actually in the same scene there's a close-up of seven stones placed on the windowsill before his change into Voldemort and splitting his soul into seven pieces. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 In the Battle of Hogwarts it's actually Oliver wood on a the broom at the beginning of the sequence heading into battle. Here you can actually see Trelawney's long flowing hair briefly showing up on screen during the Battle of Hogwarts. The giant who's wielding a giant axe in the scene isn't wielding an axe at all it's actually a broken ring from the Quidditch pitch. When Snape is defending himself from McGonagall in the Great Hall not only does he block her spell but he shows his true allegiance subtly he redirects her spell towards the Carrows and just before he flees he actually stops and removes their wands from them. When Lord Voldermort (He who should not be named) loses more and more of his soul in Deathly Hallows you see his eyes are more sunken in and he develops veins and lesions on his skin which are subtly reminiscent of the cracks in his Elder Wand. In Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows book the last line reads the 'The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well'. This was also the last shot of the film, Harry's scar is almost completely faded. If I've missed any other fantastic easter eggs, please do let me know!

  8. I have a small collections of Funko POP figures, amd Funko Rock Candy figures. I used to get them a subscription service but stopped due to plans to move and not knowing how much space I'd have to put them! I do hope to add to my collection as well. I keep most of them in their boxes for the time being, until I have space to display them, however Harry, Ron and Hermione that aren't in boxes were the first figures I got so they are out on display! I love the Funko Rock Candy figures the most, as they are a bit smaller but more detailed, however there aren't as many figures in that collection as there are in the Funko POP figures!
  9. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone vs Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone So why did the name change? It dates back to when the rights were sold for the first book: Scholastic Corporation bought the U.S. publishing rights for what was then known as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, forking out a comparably high $105,000 for the privilege. It was changed by the American publisher, Scholastic, because it thought American children wouldn't want to read a book with "philosopher" in the title. Eventually, the author suggested Sorcerer's Stone, and that's how the book is known in the U.S. market where Scholastic had the rights. Other quotes from around the world; "The publisher thought "Sorcerer" would better convey the magical tone of the series. So uninformed children would know it's about a wizard, not a philosopher." " Because apparently they thought Americans wouldn't know what a philosopher's stone is..." Rowling later admitted in a web chat for BBC Red Nose Day in 2001 that she regretted the decision. When asked if it bothered her that the name of the book had been changed in the U.S., she wrote that "they changed the first title, but with my consent. To be honest, I wish I hadn't agreed now, but it was my first book, and I was so grateful that anyone was publishing me I wanted to keep them happy ..." What name do you prefer?

  16. OPENING 6TH APRIL For the first time ever at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, you are invited to enter the set of Gringotts Wizarding Bank as we unveil our biggest expansion to date. The goblin-run bank, which features in J.K. Rowling’s books and the film series, has been recreated as part of an expansion of the Warner Bros Studio Tour attraction near Watford. Key moments at the bank include Harry’s first trip to Diagon Alley, where Gringotts is located, in Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone. Visitors to the Warner Bros Studio in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, will be able to walk through the grand marbled foyer of the wizarding bank. Lined with towering pillars, the hall is decorated with chandeliers and will feature goblins working away at their desks filled with inkwells, quills, ledgers and piles of galleons, sickles and knuts — the currency of Rowling’s world. In the main hall, visitors can learn about the costumes, prosthetics, dentures and masks used to bring goblin characters to life. Guests will then go to the depths of the Lestrange vault and see the witch’s many treasures. From Harry Potter first discovering Diagon Alley to the famous trio escaping on a Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon in their quest for a Horcrux, Gringotts Wizarding Bank played an important role in the Harry Potter film series. On 6th April, we will unveil a permanent addition allowing visitors to walk through the wizarding bank of Gringotts, the Lestrange vault, a gallery of goblins and so much more. Lined by towering marble pillars, the grand banking hall will be decorated with three magnificent crystal chandeliers and finished with real brass leaf. Inkwells, quills, ledgers and piles of Galleons, Sickles and Knuts will complete the goblin tellers’ desks as seen on screen. The Prop-making Department, led by Pierre Bohanna, created over 210,000 coins for the final two films alone. Gringotts Wizarding Bank is famously run by goblins. Walking through the imposing marble columns, visitors will discover the costumes and prosthetics belonging to Bogrod, Griphook and many other goblin bankers. Each prosthetic mask took weeks to create, with every hair individually inserted and veins painstakingly painted by hand. It took four hours to transform actor Warwick Davis into Griphook in the films which included him wearing black contact lenses and dentures with extremely sharp teeth to complete the goblin look. Once through the banking hall of Gringotts, visitors will enter the depths of the Lestrange Vault used to store the treasures of Bellatrix Lestrange including the Sword of Gryffindor and Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup, one of Voldemort’s many Horcruxes. During filming 38,000 pieces of rubberised treasure were created for the Lestrange vault including 7,014 Hufflepuff Cups. Here, visitors can try out a unique photo opportunity allowing them to step inside the Lestrange vault and surround themselves with treasure. Officially opening on Saturday 6th April, the 16,500sqft Gringotts Wizarding Bank expansion will be the Studio Tour’s biggest addition to date and has been designed and built by many of the original crew members who worked on the hugely successful magical film series including Oscar® and BAFTA winning Production Designer Stuart Craig, Construction Manager Paul Hayes and Head Propmaker Pierre Bohanna. Tickets must be pre-booked and all extra features are included in the ticket price. BOOK TICKETS Have you booked your ticket yet? We have, if you're going on the 6th April do let us know, we'll hopefully setup a mini fan meet! Source: standard.co.uk wbstudiotour.co.uk/gringotts
