Snape's Return

                         He didn’t really know what to expect. He knew he had just died, and at least he got to look into the eyes that at one time brought him so much joy. The eyes didn’t belong to who he loved, but to her son. Things were now dark, but the shadow of those eyes still loomed, as if to see him off to the afterlife.

                       

                       What was going to happen? Was there a heaven? Would that be where he was headed? Or did all the good he had done being a spy for Dumbledore, not been enough to right the wrongs of his past.

                        The darkness that had shrouded him was now changing, the eye before him blinked then a face started to form around them. As the face formed, so didn’t the darkness. It wasn’t darkness anymore, but a park, not just any park, but the park, the park where he had met her, and there before him, she was.

                       

                         She wasn’t the little girl he met, but the woman that he had lost, the one that the Dark Lord killed, Lilly Potter.

 

                        “Severus, it’s me Lilly, we don’t have much time, but I wanted to tell you something…we both do.” She looked back over her shoulder and there was him, James.

 

                        “Severus, thank you. Thank you for helping Harry, for saving him.”

 

                        Still stunned and not sure what was going on he couldn’t even mutter a word. What was happening, what was going on.

 

                        James walked closer and took a knee next to Lilly and looked into his eyes, “Severus, please forgive me, please forgive me for all the hurt I ever caused you. I am forever in your dept.”

                        Still not being able to speak he tried to reach for her. He wanted to know if all he had done worked. Was Harry safe? Did he beat Voldemort”

 

                        Lilly reached to him, reached into one of the wounds that Nagini’s fangs had made, the one that had punctured his heart. She reached into the wound just a little and surprisingly it didn’t hurt. She pulled out the Resurrection Stone that Harry had left in the woods.

 

                        “You need to destroy this, Severus. Love you, goodbye.”

 

                        She placed the stone in his hand, and he looked down at it. He finally had the energy to speak. He closed his eye’s momentarily to arrange his words. When he opened them he was no longer in the park, he was in the Shrieking Shack in Hogs Meade.

 

                        There was cheering coming from Hogwarts, he dusted himself off and walked back to the castle, half crying and half laughing. He could tell by the sounds that Voldemort had fallen. He wanted to see Harry. He wanted Harry to tell everyone the truth.

 

                        Once at the castle, he knew right where Harry would be. He went to Dumbledore’s chambers ignore the looks coming from the few that had spotted him. Down the spiral staircase until he saw them. Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Hermione and Ron nodded their heads in respect, while Harry ran up and embraced him.

 

                        “You loved her.” Harry said to him.

 

                        “Always” Snape responded.
