Themed Afternoon Tea

The Assembly House in Norwich launches a Harry Potter-inspired tea complete with chocolate wands, sorting hat cakes with secret coloured centres and ‘Philosopher’s’ Scones.

The School of Magic Afternoon Tea has been created by Swiss-trained former West End patissier Mark Mitson and his team and will see guests tucking into an afternoon tea spread of sweet and savoury treats with an enchanting theme.

Last summer, The Assembly House’s Rainbow Unicorn Afternoon Tea welcomed more than 3,000 people through the doors to enjoy a colourful themed tea and the Georgian building has also hosted a host of other themed teas, including Halloween, Christmas, The Royal Wedding and Easter.

Tea-takers are being encouraged to dress up for the occasion and the city centre venue will also be welcoming another showstopping cake from Great British Bake Off contestant Kate Barmby to create a ‘selfie station’ in the Grand Hall where people can pose for photographs with a magical cake.

More Info

We love classic afternoon tea at The Assembly House, but sometimes we like to be a little more left field and offer something a bit different.

BIG AFTERNOON TEA NEWS!

The Assembly House is proud to reveal that this year’s Summer Spectacular Themed Afternoon Tea will be...

The School of Magic Afternoon Tea ⚡️?!

Inspired by a certain boy wizard by the name of Harry, you can expect a cake that sorts you into your House for the day, a magical macaron, a dessert Dudley dismissed that was hoovered up by Harry and the House’s signature cake given a makeover fit for the most famous wizard in the world. And it’ll all be topped off with an edible wand.

On top of that, there will be The Assembly House’s Philosopher’s Scones, both sweet and cheese, a warm three-cheese toastie, a club sandwich brioche roll filled with smoked chicken mayonnaise, bacon, tomato and avocado and a selection of dainty finger sandwiches of Norfolk Ham, Smoked Salmon and Free-range egg and cress.
