Hello everyone

 

Some of you are already on summer break. In my part of Germany we are in the last week and boy, do I look forward to Friday. 😉

One of the things I‘m looking forward to is going to the movies again. During the regular school year-madness there is hardly ever time for that.  It used to be tradition in my family to kick off the summer holidays with an evening spent first watching a movie and then going out to dinner. This years I am a bit at a loss, though.

 

Looking through the local cinema‘s page all I see are remakes, prequels and sequels. Even though some or even most of these may be good movies I can‘t help but ask myself - do people not have any original, new ideas?

 

I have the same problem with the Harry Potter series. Do we really need that? So many fans have been asking, even begging for a Marauder‘s or Founder‘s movie, and yes, I realise that would be a prequel as well, but at least it wouldn‘t be a remake.

 

There are amazing books out there that have not been turned into any format for TV or the big screen. Why not tackle those?
