Mother’s Day

In Germany Mother’s Day is coming up this Sunday, so I thought I’d open up a variation of a question that has been asked before.

 

The figure of “mother” is very important in the Harry Potter series; Lily protects Harry with her sacrifice, Voldemort never had a mother and accuses her of not loving him enough to live, Hagrid’s mother is responsible for the giant part of his genetics. Then there are Narcissa Malfoy, Molly Weasley, Alice Longbottom, Mrs. Black and even Mrs. Dumbledore who all had a vital impact on her children.

 

What relationship do you find the most fascinating and for what reason?
Is there a mother in the books that  you would have liked more backstory on?
Do women read the role different from men?
