Voldemort was the rightful owner of the Elder Wand

Voldemort kills Snape because maybe that way the Elder Wand would accept Voldemort as his owner, but he didn't know that the rightful owner was Harry.

Later when Voldemort attacked Harry with the avada kedavra at the forbidden forest, he becomes the rightful owner of the Elder Wand, but never realized about it due to all the events that happened afterwards.

Not even Harry knew that Voldemort became the rightful owner of the wand, and since he is able to defeat him, he thinks Voldemort never was the real owner.

 

Grindelwald stole the Elder Wand before he became the rightful owner. In Gregorovitch's memory it’s seen that he first saw Grindelwald with the wand, and then the boy used a spell against Gregorovitch, making Grindelwald the new owner. And to become the owner, it's not strictly necesary to kill the previous owner.

 

Voldemort uses crucio against Harry, and the reason why it didn't affect him, was not because Harry was the owner of the wand but because he unintentionally discovered the way to neutralize crucio's effects. Before Voldemort uses the crucio, Harry prepared himself phisically and mentally.

Harry is able to keep the ownership of his own wand because Voldemort never touched the wand.
 

When the battle resumes, Voldemort is able to defeat Minerva McGonagall, Horace Slughorn and Kingsley Shacklebolt at the same time because Voldemort is now able to use the full power of the Elder Wand.

Voldemort would never be able to defeat Harry Potter due to the fact that Harry's blood was used to create Voldemort's new body in the fourth book. That way the Elder Wand would't kill his owner, both Harry and Voldemort.

Voldemort dies because his spell rebounds on him and his soul was already too weak to be splited again or to endure the shot of another avada kedavra, even with his own wand.

 

That way, Voldemort gets to become the rightful owner of the Elder Wand for a few hours.
