Tom Felton Returns as Draco Malfoy: A Magical Homecoming on Broadway

Starting November 11, 2025, Felton will reprise his iconic role in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at New York's Lyric Theatre. This 19 week engagement marks not only his Broadway debut, but also the first time an original film cast member has joined the stage adaptation. For fans, it's a rare and poignant opportunity to witness the continuation of Draco's story, portrayed by the actor who first brought him to life.

 

Set 19 years after the events of the original series, The Cursed Child explores the next generation of wizards, focusing on the unlikely friendship between Draco's son, Scorpius Malfoy, and Harry Potter's son, Albus Severus. Felton, now the same age as his character in the play, expressed that returning to Draco is a "full-circle moment". He shared that trying on Draco's signature wig again brought him to tears, underscoring the deep emotional connection he maintains with the character.

 

Felton's journey since the original films has been diverse, including roles in various films and a West End debut in 2022. His memoir, Beyond the Wand, offers insights into his experiences growing up within the Harry Potter franchise. Yet, despite his varied career, the role of Draco remains a defining part of his identity. Tickets for this limited run go on sale June 12, with a presale beginning June 10.
