Harry Potter’s Viktor Krum (Stan Yanevski) Sounds Serious Warning After Fan Almost Got Scammed

Stanislav Yanevski, the actor who played Viktor Krum, has gone public with a chilling warning after one of his own fans was nearly tricked by an online scammer pretending to be him.

 

 

Stan still connects with tons of people online and has almost 300 000 followers on his real Instagram page. He tries to post fun stuff motorbike videos fitness highlights and nostalgic Potter moments for the community… but he says there’s a much darker side lurking in the comments and DMs too.

According to Stan, he was approached by the cousin of a fan, who was convinced she was chatting with him. The scammer had sent photos and messages pretending to be Stan… and the fan was so wrapped up in the deception that she was ready to sell her house and send the money to the fake profile overseas. Obviously that would have been devastating… but thankfully the cousin realised something was wrong and Stan was able to confirm it wasn’t him.

 

He’s urging people to stick with his official verified accounts and always double-check who they’re talking to online. If a message seems too good to be true, it probably is. The internet may feel like a friendly space sometimes, but scammers will use AI and fake profiles to take advantage of genuine fans.

 

It’s a stark reminder that even well-known actors with big followings aren’t immune to these kinds of tricks, and that anyone can be targeted if they let their guard down. Stan says his community watches out for each other and flags anything fake when it pops up… but it’s still frightening how far some folks will go with fake messages and profiles.
