Fantastic Beasts 3 to be released in theaters 12th November 2021

Fans of the muggle and magical world may be disappointed in knowing that they will have to wait till 2021 to see the third installment in the Fantastic Beasts. Warner Bros confirmed that the third film in the Harry Potter prequel franchise won't be released until November 12, 2021, with production scheduled to begin Spring 2020.

Why the delay?

The news comes after Rowling was tasked with re-working the script amidst an overwhelming amount of negative reactions from both fans and critics. In new statements it sounds like WB acknowledges there were problems with Grindelwald.

“J.K. Rowling created an awe-inspiring universe that has captivated people of all ages, taking us on an extraordinary magical journey,” said Ron Sanders, WB President of Worldwide Theatrical Distribution and Home Entertainment.

“Warner Bros. is so proud to be the cinematic home of the Wizarding World and is excited about the future of the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ franchise. We look forward to bringing the third chapter of the five-film series to audiences around the globe in November 2021.”

Toby Emmerich, Chairman of Warner Bros. Pictures Group added, “We are incredibly excited about and have confidence in the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ series. We all believe this release date will give the filmmakers time and space to allow their artistry to truly flourish and deliver the best possible film to our fans.”

Cast updates?

Johnny Depp has confirmed his return as Gellert Grindelwald, so we can expect to see Jude Law as young Albus Dumbledore, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone, Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander all return for the next installment!

As well all know, Fantastic Beasts movies will set in a different city across the world in each movie. The first movie being in New York and the second being in Paris, the third destination is yet to be revealed, there have been hits recently..... JK Rowling has revealed on her Twitter account that header/banner photo is of Rio de Janeiro in the 1930s. Could this be a clue?

What's happening in the thrid installment?
Credence and Queenie have sided with Grindelwald (smell trouble?), while Newt has committed to fighting the dark wizard alongside his brother Theseus. Dumbledore is working on breaking the blood pact that prevents him from confronting Grindelwald directly, while his former friend (and lover?) is planning to use Credence and his powers to destroy Hogwarts' future headmaster.

Are you excited for a third film in the franchise? Did you like the second film despite the reviews?

Why not leave a reply, we'd love to hear your thoughts!

The next film will be a make it or break it moment for the series. They should take all the time they need to regroup and bring the magic back.

It's certainly been missing something, it's great 'going back' and seeing familiar shots bring the nostalgia back. But I haven't been impressed with the series at all, and seeing all the flack that the last one got just shows you that they haven't got it right...

Agreed. My biggest concern is they try to bring to much Harry Potter connections  into the series. Just let it be it’s own thing .

I feel that while JKR has her say, I can't help but think she isn't as involved in this as she was in the Harry Potter series..?

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald will be released in the UK on November 16, 2018.
Set just months after the first film ended in 1927, the sequel will document the rise of Gellert Grindelwald after he was unmasked while masquerading as Percival Graves, Director of Magical Security and head of The Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA's) Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
The wizard's grand plan is for magical pure-blood wizards to reign over all No-Maj's (non-magical folk) so audiences can expect to see Grindelwald wreak havoc on the streets of New York, London and Paris.
To thwart Grindelwald's plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead.
