  1. The last gift I got was the Black Family Tapestry Poster by my other half (thank you!) (shamelessly taken from my other post) Poster Size – 69 x 50 cm (27.2 x 19.7 inches) What was the last item you have purchased or was gifted?
  2. Hey Wizarding Community. I hope we're all coping as best as we can, and staying as safe as possible. I got myself thinking about magical objects and inventions from the Wizarding World. And I wondered what object you would bring over from the Wizarding World to use in the Muggle World. It could be anything ever mentioned in the Wizarding World (yes, even a wand!). I thought long and hard about this, but I think I'd go for the fireworks Fred and George use in Order of the Phoenix. Personally, I'd love to see if you could make a silent version of them, but I think they're so cool. Imagine if your neighbours get annoying - you can just silence them with a dragon firework. I'd love to know what object you'd bring!

  6. The First 'Harry Potter' book has J.K. Rowling baffled by its Italian cover One would imagine that an author with as much clout as J.K. Rowling would be able to control the cover designs of her best-selling books. That may be reality now, but there was a time before Rowling took the world by storm; a time before all the sequels, prequels, spin-offs, musicals and alternate universes. It was that time that gifted us with an absolute mess of a cover so out-of-nowhere that Rowling still has literally no idea what is happening on it. Typically speaking, the covers of these types of books depict characters, settings and circumstances from the plot. As the series advanced, plot lines "evolved" and movies were made, the covers began to take on a more bold and graphic look. Apparently that didn't happen in Rowling's version, either, as she too has absolutely, positively, no idea what is going on in this cover. Also there are limited editions, special editions, collector's editions, numbered editions, house cover art editions, movie editions... But again, we're not there yet. This was the point where the covers were simple line drawings of magical kids who went to a magical school and hung out with magical friends and got up to magical shenanigans. It was a simpler, more pure, less Voldemort-y time. The innocence and wonder translated onto covers from around the world. One cover featured Harry in front of the Hogwart's Express. Another gave us Harry on his broomstick, flying between pillars. A few gave us glimpses of Harry, Hermione and Ron together. And then there's Italy, who gave the world this. @aryastarkno/Twitter Did we miss the chapter where ya boy HP was wizard-napped by NYC subway rats and taken to one of those sewer-dwelling-geniuses we see in movies all the time (lookin' at you, August Rush ... and Ninja Turtles) but never in real life? And the only way he could win his freedom was to live among them, as one of the rats, working his way up their social ladder via their chosen method of battle, chess? Until finally he can chess-battle the boss rat and return to Hogwarts? Is that a thing in the Italian version? 'Cause that wasn't a thing in the one we read. News Source: comicsands
  7. When the mood strikes.... What is your ‘go to’ movie from the Harry Potter series? What do I mean by a ‘go to’ movie? Well, I mean the film that acts like a metaphorical comfort blanket. Which one of the films would you instinctively settle down with, when you’re stuck for things to watch? Are you revisiting the films more now that we’re in self isolation? Those members who know me, will know that my favourite film is the ‘Prisoner of Azkaban’ - I never get bored of it, and it’s the movie I’ll always have on when ‘pottering’ around the house. Do you watch any of the films with your partners? My partner’s favourite is ‘The Philosophers Stone’.
  8. What do you of the new releases coming soon? Will you be picking any of them up?

  11. Soon, we’ll finally be able to venture inside the Forbidden Forest. On 31 March, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London will open a glorious new expansion dedicated to the Forbidden Forest (Picture: Warner Bros. Studio Tour London) The real-life Forbidden Forest will look a LOT like the Forbidden Forest you’ve seen in the films, with 19 trees – each 12 feet wide – with giant roots you have to trek through. (Picture: Warner Bros. Studio Tour London) There’ll even be controllable weather, so you can make things fittingly dark and moody. There’s fun stuff to do inside the forest, other than just wandering around and pretending to be Hermione. One of Rubeus Hagrid’s original costumes will be on display for you to check out, plus there’s a full-size model of Buckbeak to bow to. When you venture deeper into the forest, you’ll come face-to-face with Aragog (its leg span is over 18 feet, so it’s pretty massive) and a bunch of spiderlings. (Picture: Warner Bros. Studio Tour London) (Picture: Warner Bros. Studio Tour London) The whole thing sounds scary and delightful, and we’re very excited to be able to follow up our trip to the Great Hall by creeping around a spider-filled forest. The studio tour’s new Forbidden Forest will be open from Friday 31 March, and entrance will be included in the regular ticket price. Promo Wallpaper:

  13. Fancy hearing David Bradley (AKA Argus Filch) try his hand at some Bing Crosby? Or Dan Fogler and Ezra Miller join up for a Hanukkah classic? These are just a few of the joys of A Magical Time of Year, a new compilation album recorded to raise money for the Lumos Foundation, a charity founded by J.K. Rowling. Ezra Miller, Warwick Davis and Claudia Kim are among the stars from J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World to have recorded songs for a festive charity album in aid of the author's Lumos Foundation Professor Flitwick actor and Lumos ambassador Warwick Davis, one of the contributors to the album, said of the experince: "I had such fun singing 'Merry Christmas Everyone', a song I've loved since the original recording by Shakin' Stevens. Through your support of this album, you'll be helping Lumos make a real difference to the lives of children and families, and be adding a little magic to your holidays." Ezra, who plays Credence Barebone in the 'Fantastic Beasts' series, has teamed up with his co-star Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) for 'Hanukkah Oh Hanukkah', and also recorded a solo track, the album's closer, 'O Holy Night'. Claudia, best known as Nagini in 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald', has recorded a version of 'Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!', and that, along with Warwick's 'Merry Christmas Everyone' and 'What Christmas Means to Me' by Thomas Aldridge – who is currently playing Ron Weasley in the London production of '...the Cursed Child' – are available to download now ahead of the release of the album on November 29. A Magical Time of Year will be coming out this week on 29 November, with three teaser tracks available to download or stream from today. A percentage of the proceeds will go to the Lumos foundation, helping vulnerable children all across the world leave orphanages and reunite with their families. 15. Hey everyone! Thought I'd jump on and tell you all that Pottermore is making the full transition to WizardingWorld.com. They explain it all here but just in case you haven't seen it, I figured I'd copy it into here. The link is also posted at the bottom if you prefer to do it through the article itself. I'll also try to answer any questions, as I'm already on the WizardingWorld.com site. Engorgio Pottermore... We're moving to WizardingWorld.com - our new, bigger home for all of the magic you love. Here's everything you need to know. After seven years of providing you with all the latest Wizarding World reports, analysing every single facet of the Harry Potter stories, breaking news about the Fantastic Beasts films, challenging your fandom with some rather tough quizzes and, of course, asking you to discover your true Hogwarts house, we can now announce... that we're going to do more of it! Stay tuned to see what happens next, and we'll see you at our new house just as soon as we've shifted all the furniture. Pottermore Link What do you think about this move? Do you think it's good? What about the passports? At the moment they're pretty lacklustre, but the site is still in its early stages. Let us know!
